Trauma Release Exercises | TRE Limpopo

Welcome to TRE Limpopo

What's New

In daily life, we all experience stress and sometimes trauma. This stress/trauma causes our bodies to release chemicals in response to a situation (i.e. adrenaline when a car overtakes us on a solid line). In order to re-establish the sense of calm and balance, our bodies need to rid themselves of the excess chemicals that have been produced in this stressful situation. People and animals tremble after a traumatic event. This is our body’s natural response to an imbalance of chemicals once the stressful or traumatic situation is over. We have socialized ourselves to believe that trembling is a sign of weakness and have switched off this natural response that restores the body to a state of relaxation and chemical and endocrine balance after a stressful event.

TRE, through specific exercises, initiates the tremoring mechanism, which is organically natural to us, but which we have ‘switched off’.

Some of the effects of TRE that have been noted by TRE practitioners are:

  • Reduced lower back pain
  • Reduced muscle pain and stiffness
  • Healing of chronic diseases
  • Reduced chronic tension
  • Increased sense of calmness
  • Restored natural sleeping pattern
  • A sense of balance in life

The TRE technique was developed by David Berceli to reduce muscular tension, relieve chronic stress, anxiety, and recover from stressful/traumatic episodes in life.
